dc.description | Studies show that many students in the field of medicine and nursing suffer incidents of interpersonal abuse from both teachers and peers in classroom and clinic, during the course of their training [give references]. These adverse incidents can have an effect not only on their experience of the course and hence student satisfaction, but also on the success of their studies and their future careers. To date, at the Autonomous University of Nayarit, no studies have been carried out to investigate this phenomenon and the perception of medical and nursing students of mistreatment and abuse during their training. We performed an exploratory-descriptive study including questions as to what common expressions of abuse students have experienced. A questionnaire was administered to students who completed the fourth year. The results, consistent with international studies, show the following events given in the classroom: rejection (26.56%), bullying (28.75%), public humiliation (12.19%), verbal abuse (13.43%), sexual harassment (6.25%) and physical assault (0.6 %). | es_ES |
