dc.description	The concept of profession must be analyzed beyond a simple definition of dictionary (Finn, 1953). Finn proposes some characteristics that every profession must contain. Also Fernández (2001) and the Association for Educational communications and Technology (Saettler, 1990) highlight some factors define whether an activity is a profession. This has generated intense the sense of defining which are real professions, and not just an activity or something else. Among these discussions stands out one, which comes from the 50's in the twentieth century, and tries to determine if Educational Technology (TE) is a profession. This article describes and analyzes the characteristics and factors that underpin the why the TE is a real profession.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	El concepto de profesión debe analizarse más allá de una simple definición de diccionario (Finn, 1953). Finn propone algunas características que toda profesión debe contener. También Fernández (2001) y la Association for Educational Communications and Technology (Saettler, 1990) destacan algunos factores para definir si una actividad es una profesión. Esto ha generado intensas discusiones, en el sentido de definir cuáles son auténticas profesiones, y no únicamente una actividad u otra cosa. Entre estas discusiones resalta una, la cual viene desde los años 50’s en el siglo XX, y que intenta determinar si la Tecnología Educativa (TE) es una profesión. En este artículo se describen y analizan las características y factores que fundamentan el por qué la TE, es una auténtica profesión.	es_ES
