dc.description	Obesity is a chronic, multifactorial disease whose prevalence is increasing worldwide. It is characterized by an excess fat accumulation in the body that determines a body mass index (BMI) ≥ 30.0 kg / m2, which is the result of a positive balance of energy, where the caloric intake exceeds the caloric expenditure. Obesity decreases the life expectancy of patients and has been associated with an increase in the incidence of some chronic-degenerative diseases, including DM2, systemic arterial hypertension, cancer and cardiovascular diseases. It has been established that obesity negatively impacts multiple functions of the immune system. It is also known that the immunological processes involved in the defense of the organism against infectious pathogens are modified by the nutritional status, in this way, obesity, can affect the innate and adaptive immune response.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	La obesidad es una enfermedad crónica, multifactorial, cuya prevalencia va en aumento a nivel mundial. Se caracteriza por un exceso de acumulación de grasa en el cuerpo que determina un índice de masa corporal (IMC) ≥ 30.0 kg/m2, lo cual es el resultado de un balance positivo de energía, donde la ingesta de calorías excede al gasto calórico. La obesidad disminuye las expectativas de vida de los pacientes y se ha asociado con el incremento en la incidencia de algunas enfermedades crónico-degenerativas, entre las que se incluyen, la DM2, hipertensión arterial sistémica, cáncer y enfermedades cardiovasculares. Se ha establecido que la obesidad impacta de manera negativa múltiples funciones del sistema inmune. Se sabe también que los procesos inmunológicos implicados en la defensa del organismo contra patógenos infecciosos son modificados por el estado nutricional, de esta manera, la obesidad, puede afectar la respuesta inmune innata y adaptativa.	es_ES
