dc.description	The cultivation of commercially important aquatic organisms (Aquaculture) has grown rapidly on the world's tropical and subtropical coasts since 1985. According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO, 1999), international demand for marine products and technological progress are the main causes of this phenomenon. In many countries, as in Mexico, the development of commercial shrimp farming for foreign exchange is encouraged. While this can be considered a healthy sign of economic development, government planning and regulatory frameworks have been insufficient in several cases to ensure the sustainable development of aquaculture.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	El cultivo de organismos acuáticos de importancia comercial (Acuicultura) ha crecido de manera acelerada en las costas tropicales y subtropicales del mundo desde 1985. De acuerdo con la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Agricultura y la Alimentación (FAO, 1999), la demanda internacional de productos marinos y el progreso tecnológico son las principales causas de este fenómeno. En Muchos países al igual que en México, se fomenta el desarrollo del cultivo comercial de camarón para obtener divisas. Si bien, esto puede considerarse un signo saludable del desarrollo económico, la planificación y los marcos de regulación gubernamentales han sido insuficientes en varios casos, para garantizar el desarrollo sustentable de la acuicultura.	es_ES
