dc.description The shrimp fishery in northeastern Mexico is the most important from the social and economic point of view. This fishery is sequential in nature, developing in coastal lagoons as well as in Altamar. The predominant species in the catches is the brown shrimp Farfantepenaeus aztecus. This species supports the fishery in the northwest of the Gulf of Mexico and constitutes approximately 86% of the catches obtained in Altamar and coastal bodies of water. The total shrimp catches in this area in the last five years have been around 11,000 t (Official Gazette of the Federation 2010). Being of a sequential nature, this fishery presents a competition between the coastal and industrial sectors of Altamar, which largely determines the dynamics of the management of the shrimp fishery throughout the Gulf of Mexico. es_ES
dc.description.abstract La pesquería de camarón en el noreste de México es la más importante desde el punto de vista social y económico. Esta pesquería es de carácter secuencial, desarrollándose tanto en lagunas costeras, como en Altamar. La especie predominante en las capturas es el camarón café Farfantepenaeus aztecus. Esta especie soporta la pesquería en el noroeste del Golfo de México y constituye aproximadamente el 86 % de las capturas obtenidas en Altamar y en los cuerpos de agua costeros. Las capturas totales de camarón en esta zona en los últimos cinco años han estado alrededor de 11,000 t (Diario Oficial de la Federación 2010). Por ser de carácter secuencial, en esta pesquería se presenta una competencia entre el sector ribereño con el industrial de Altamar, lo cual determina en buena medida la dinámica de la administración de la pesquería del camarón en todo el Golfo de México es_ES
