dc.description	Dental interproximal wear is a technique that consists of reducing approximately half the thickness of enamel on the mesial and distal faces of the teeth. It is indicated mainly to resolve the crowding of the tooth and to that it is possible to obtain up to 10 mm of space with the reduction of the anterior and posterior teeth, its main advantage being that only the amount of space required is obtained without the need to sacrifice healthy teeth. It is done following a rigorous sequence of steps that include the determination of the amount of enamel to be removed, completion of the wear as such, recontoured, polished and fluoride protection of the surfaces, which must be fulfilled so that the procedure does not have negative effects on the surrounding or dental tissues. Until now, this procedure has not been shown to have cariogenic, periodontal, or adverse endodontic effects, although it produces grooves in the enamel, causes root proximity and diminishes the protective enamel layer. It has a positive effect on post-treatment stability of cases.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	El desgaste dentario interproximal es una técnica que consiste en la reducción de aproximadamente la mitad del espesor de esmalte en las caras mesiales y distales de los dientes. Está indicado principalmente para resolver el apiñamiento dentario y a que se puede obtener hasta 10 mm de espacio con la reducción de los dientes anteriores y posteriores, tiene como principal ventaja que solo se obtiene la cantidad de espacio que se requiere sin necesidad de sacrificar dientes sanos. Se realiza siguiendo una secuencia rigurosa de pasos que incluyen la determinación de la cantidad de esmalte a eliminar, realización del desgaste como tal, recontorneado, pulido y protección con flúor de las superficies, los cuales deben ser cumplidos a cabalidad para que el procedimiento no tenga efectos negativos sobre los tejidos dentarios ni circunvecinos. Hasta ahora no se ha demostrado que este procedimiento tenga efectos cariogénicos, periodontales, ni endodónticos adversos, a pesar que produce ranuras en el esmalte, ocasiona proximidad radicular y disminuye la capa de esmalte protector. Tiene un efecto positivo en la estabilidad post-tratamiento de los casos.	es_ES
