dc.description	The need to know the anatomical aspects of the pulp cavity has been a concern of researchers since the last century, since the dentist must determine exactly the length of the tooth to be able to establish a working length. A cross-sectional, exploratory and descriptive epidemiological study was conducted in which 400 OD of the inhabitants of the state of Chiapas were collected to analyze the lengths of the root canals. The teeth were classified according to their corresponding position within the dental arch and the lengths of each OD were obtained. These lengths were compared with other studies observing that if there are differences between the values found in this study and those reported by other authors, some differences are manifested in anterior teeth and others in later teeth. For this reason it is necessary to have a reference of the region, as well as to generate standard or reference values in order that the dentists have a theoretical reference of the length of the root canals of each of the positions of the DO, and so on. give the population the opportunity to have an emergent treatment to eliminate the pain, and consequently if it is feasible, to preserve the DO by decreasing the index of extractions, opening the door to a comprehensive dental education.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	La necesidad de conocer los aspectos anatómicos de la cavidad pulpar ha sido una preocupación de los investigadores desde el siglo pasado, ya que el odontólogo debe determinar exactamente la longitud del diente para poder establecer una longitud de trabajo. Se realizó un estudio epidemiológico transversal, exploratorio y descriptivo en el cual fueron reunidos 400 OD de los habitantes del estado de Chiapas, para analizar las longitudes de los conductos radiculares. Se clasificaron los dientes de acuerdo ala posición que les corresponde dentro de la arcada dentaria y se obtuvieron las longitudes de cada OD. Estas longitudes se compararon con otros estudios observando que si existen diferencias entre los valores encontrados en este estudio y los reportados por otros autores, unas diferencias se manifiestan en dientes anteriores y otras en posteriores. Por tal motivo es necesario tener un referente de la región, así como generar valores estándares o de referencia a fin de que los Odontólogos cuenten con un referente teórico de la longitud de los conductos radiculares de cada una de las posiciones de los OD, y así dar a la población la oportunidad de tener un tratamiento emergente para eliminar el dolor, y consecuentemente si es factible, conservar el OD disminuyendo el índice de extracciones, abriendo la puerta a una educación odontológica integral.	es_ES
