dc.description In Mexico, the smaller pelagic fish fisheries (Sardinops sagax caeruleus, Opisthonema libértate, O. medirastre, O. bulleri, Scomber japonicus, Etrumeus teres, Cetengraulis mysticetus and Engraulis mordax) represent more than 35% of the total annual landed. To avoid that the fisheries enter a state of overexploitation, controls are required based on biological and economic criteria. In this work, the status of the commercial fishery for southern sardine (Sardinops sagax caeruleus) of the Gulf of California is evaluated using a bioeconomic model for the fishing season 1971, 1972 to 2008, 2009. Data were available from 17 sardine boats purse seiners from the Sonora commercial fleet and their average economic performance was estimated in terms of their hold capacity. es_ES
dc.description.abstract En México las pesquerías de peces pelágicos menores (Sardinops sagax caeruleus, Opisthonema libértate, O. medirastre, O. bulleri, Scomber japonicus, Etrumeus teres, Cetengraulis mysticetus y Engraulis mordax) representan más del 35% del total anual desembarcado. Para evitar que las pesquerías ingresen a un estado de sobreexplotación se requieren controles definidos con base en criterios biológicos y económicos. En este trabajo, se evalúa el estatus de la pesquería comercial de sardina monterrey (Sardinops sagax caeruleus) del Golfo de California utilizando un modelo bioeconómico para la temporada de pesca 1971, 1972 hasta 2008, 2009. Se tuvo acceso a datos de 17 barcos sardineros cerqueros de la flota comercial de Sonora y se estimó su desempeño económico promedio en términos de su capacidad de bodega. es_ES
