dc.description	With the constant increase of the adult population the general health problems increase, also the dental health problems become chronic, for which a study about the prevalence and causes of pulp disease in patients aged 60 and over was made, age of the masculine and feminine genders, in the clinics of the degree of Dentist Surgeon of the Faculty of Dentistry of the Autonomous University of Yucatan, Mexico, during the period from March to July of 2002. With a sample of 60 voluntary subjects, with prior authorization of these, and a dental surgeon, following the principles of the Official Mexican Standard 013 for the control of infections and the rule 156 for the radiological protection, they were elaborated, to each one cedula which consisted of a questionnaire, clinical examination, clinical tests and series of x-rays, noting on the card the results of the clinical and radiographic diagnosis of each dental organ, to know if they had pulpal disease and what were its causes.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	Con el constante aumento de la población adulta se incrementan los problemas de salud general, asimismo los problemas de salud dental se tornan crónicos, por lo que se realizó un estudio acerca de la prevalencia y causas de enfermedad pulpar en pacientes de 60 y más años de edad de los géneros masculino y femenino, en las clínicas de la licenciatura de Cirujano Dentista de la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán, México, durante el periodo de marzo a julio de 2002. Con una muestra de 60 sujetos voluntarios, previa autorización de estos, y de un cirujano dentista, siguiendo los principios de la Norma Oficial Mexicana 013 para el control de infecciones y la norma 156 para la protección radiológica, se les elaboró, a cada uno cédula la cual consistió en un cuestionario, examen clínico, pruebas clínicas y serie de radiografías, anotándose en la cédula los resultados del diagnóstico clínico y radiográfico de cada órgano dentario, para saber si presentaban enfermedad pulpar y cuales eran sus causas.	es_ES
