dc.description	The main objective of this document is to review the literature on the most recent research on the importance of environmental education for the transformation of culture and its importance to achieve sustainable local development. It was concluded that environmental education plays an important role as an instrument of social transformation, generating changes in attitude, beliefs and values of society regarding the environment, however, interdisciplinary support is required to achieve the resolution of environmental problems, as well as the participation of all social actors.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	El principal objetivo de este documento es hacer una revisión de la literatura sobre las investigaciones más recientes acerca de la importancia de la educación ambiental para la transformación de la cultura y su trascendencia para lograr un desarrollo local sustentable.Se concluyó que la educación ambiental juega un papel importante como instrumento de transformación social, generando cambios de actitud, creencias y valores de la sociedad respecto al medio ambiente, sin embargo, se requiere del apoyo interdisciplinar para lograr la resolución de los problemas ambientales, así como la participación de todos los actores sociales.	es_ES
