Resumen : Costa Rica aprobó la Política de medicamentos Esenciales la cual establece que deben estar disponibles en los sistemas de salud en todo momento, en cantidades convenientes, en formas farmacéuticas apropiadas, con calidad garantizada y la información adecuada, y un precio que el individuo y la comunidad puedan pagar. En este documento quedan registradas las acciones más relevantes realizadas en la Dirección de Farmacoepidemiología, de esta manera se documenta el reflejo, en una proporción de la vida institucional de la DFE tras treinta y tres años que tiene de haber implementado la Política de Medicamentos Esenciales, la cual ha repercutido indiscutiblemente en forma significativa y positiva en el acceso a los medicamentos, aumento de la capacidad resolutiva de los tres niveles de atención, experiencia en el recurso humano técnico-científico que incide en la mayor destreza anta la selección de medicamentos y desde luego en la sostenibilidad del sistema de seguro Social.
Descripción : Costa Rica approved the Essential Medicines Policy which establishes that they must be available in health systems at all times, in convenient quantities, in appropriate pharmaceutical forms, with guaranteed quality and adequate information, and a price that the individual and the community They can pay. In this document the most relevant actions carried out in the Pharmacoepidemiology Department are registered, in this way the reflection is documented, in a proportion of the institutional life of the DFE after thirty-three years of having implemented the Essential Medicines Policy, which has unquestionably had a significant and positive impact on access to medicines, an increase in the resolution capacity of the three levels of care, experience in the technical-scientific human resource that affects the greater skill of the selection of medicines and since then in the sustainability of the Social security system.
