| Resumen : | El análisis de Tanaka Johnston se utiliza durante la dentición mixta, para predecir el tamaño mesiodistal de los caninos, primera premolar y segunda premolar, con este se puede diagnosticar y tratar problemas de maloclusión que se presenta en un futuro. El inconveniente de este análisis, es que si el paciente no corresponde a la población donde se realizó el estudio, puede llegará tener fallas El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar la efectividad del método de Tanaka Johnston para predecirle tamaño de los caninos y premolares maxilares y mandibulares, en la población atendida en el posgrado de ortodoncia de la Universidad Autónoma de Nayarit. Se calcularon la media, desviación estándar y correlación de los segmentos posteriores con el anterior. Se utilizó la prueba de t de Student para comparar el segmento posterior derecho con el izquierdo del maxilar y la mandíbula. |
| Descripción : | Tanaka Johnston's analysis is used during the mixed dentition, to predict the mesiodistal size of the canines, first premolar and second premolar, with this it is possible to diagnose and treat malocclusion problems that occur in the future. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of Tanaka Johnston's method to predict the size of canines and maxillary and mandibular premolars, in the population attended in the postgraduate course of orthodontics at the Autonomous University of Nayarit. The mean, standard deviation and correlation of the posterior segments with the anterior segment were calculated. Student's t-test was used to compare the right posterior segment with the left maxilla and mandible. |
