Descripción : In the present investigation we worked with enterococcus strains, they were isolated from wastewater from the most important hospitals in the city of Tepic and from the bed of the river Mololoa. The purpose was to determine the activity of enterocyte gelatinase and enterocyte cytolicin in these isolates as they are important factors during enterococcal infection, later the species of those that showed activity to both enzymes was identified. This is justified by the growing problem of enterococci and the health problems generated by the presence of virulence elements within their genome, added to the impact of hospital environments with the formation and permanence of these virulence elements and their propagation to nature, events already confirmed.
