dc.descriptionThe term graffiti derives from the Italian expression graffito originating from the Greek grapho, which means to record. Leila Gándara (2002) defines it as follows: way: “Graffities the plural of graffito, which means “inscription” or “scribble” in Italian. In Italian, the verb graffiare means to scribble and derives from the term Greek graphien, meaning “to write” (p. 15). For his part, Joan Garí (1995) refers to graffiti in the following way: “The term comes from the Italian graffiare (scribbling) and a certain strangely customary use has ended up convert it into an international noun, outside of any convention morphological” (p. 23). As can be seen, these definitions coincide in the nature of the term graffiti, coming from the Italian word that is adopted and It is used not only by Spanish speakers, but also by Spanish speakers. other languages, who adapt it as a word corresponding to the language own. dc.description.abstractEl término grafiti deriva de la expresión italiana graffito originada del griego grapho, que significa grabar. Leila Gándara (2002) lo define de la siguiente manera: “Graffities el plural de graffito, que significa “inscripción” o “garabato” en italiano. En italiano, el verbo graffiare significa garabatear y deriva del término griego graphien, que significa “escribir” (p. 15). Por su parte, Joan Garí (1995) se refiere al grafiti de la siguiente manera: “El término proviene del italiano graffiare (garabatear) y un cierto uso extrañamente consuetudinario ha acabado por convertirlo en un sustantivo internacional, al margen de toda convención morfológica” (p. 23). Como se aprecia, estas definiciones coinciden en la naturaleza del término grafiti, proveniente del vocablo italiano que se adopta y se emplea no sólo por los hablantes del español, sino también por los hablantes de otras lenguas, quienes lo adaptan como una palabra correspondiente al idioma propio. Así pues, podemos decir que la definición conlleva necesariamente la inscripción gráfica, ya sea en muros u otros espacios, en donde hay una participación de los sujetos productores.es_ES
